Day 55 | Midlands Cow

I moo'ed. I barked. I kisk-kisk'ed. I yooo-hooo'd... nothing worked. This cow was not going to look at me!

Day 54 | Fynbos and Diamonds

I promise I never forgot about my 365 Project yesterday. Just forgot to upload! :)
Consider this a sneak peak too of the gorgeous wedding I second shooted (assisted Kallah Ohr Photography). Thanks
 for the opportunity. x

Day 53 | Pretty Door Handle

I love pretty things. Today I had an editor's meeting in Dundee and for the first time, got to see inside the Dundee hotel, where we had breakfast. I loved all the antiques and prettiness around the hotel with its big bulky wooden doors, war remnants and history. Next time you're in the area, pop in and have a walk through this magnificent museum of a hotel.

Day 52 | Ingogo, Along Time Ago

Today I took a drive through to Ingogo to visit a friend. Driving through the little village is a bit of an adventure with all the cows and sheep and goats in the road but the slower-driving gives you an opportunity to have a look about at the Ingogo that once was.

Day 49 | Lightning

I was flat out of ideas today so on my way home from work, I thought I'd give night photography a go.
But after supper, the skies opened and we had a full on 30 minute storm.
I was grateful and thought that once the rain stopped, the sky would be clearer and I'd get some great shots of the town from a lookout point (Signal Hill).
On our way up, however, we noticed some lightning behind the lookout point so we (husband and I) changed direction and went to the opposite side of the town to capture some of this lightning.
Unfortunately it was a bit of a drive (Memel Road) so by the time we reached a good enough spot to stop, the lightning was enveloped by some clouds. The clouds did light up every seven or so seconds so I thought I'd still go ahead and try to photograph it.

With my camera on a tripod and my shutter on bulb, I photographed.
Above was one result, however the lights down at the bottom of the pic came out a bit to blurry for my liking.

So I tried again and this was the result. I'm sure if I lighten this up in Photoshop I'd get a bit more purple electricity in the photo but at least for my first attempt, I caught something.
For this photo, my shutter was open for about six seconds.

And then, just when I realised there wasn't anymore bolts, I got this. A truck driver zoomed past with his cabin lights on, resulting in those lights being pretty high up in the photo.
I thought it made for an interesting effect.

Overall, I think I'll definitely give this another go to try get it more in focus.

Day 48 | Pink Flower

A day later. Exhausted. Desperate.

Day 47 | Bokeh

Don't think I forgot my 365 Project this weekend. I was so busy second shooting a wedding on Saturday that the only time I really had to take a photograph was around 11pm!

So this is what you get... a truck overturned on the highway and resulted in a massive traffic jam. So I sneakily used my camera, while slowly driving forward, to take this bokeh shot of the emergency lights of officials at the scene.

Gorgeous Liam and Nicholas | Family

What more could a photographer ask for? Perfect light, gorgeous family, beautiful boys and such tasteful decor/food? I recently got to photograph this family after Nicholas' christening. Congratulations Nicholas. May God keep you forever in the palm of his hand.

Day 44 | Today's Sunset

So it was almost a Scottie Day - the kind of day where I don't know what to photograph so I resort to bribing my dogs to get them to pose. After taking a few really great shots of them, I managed to later capture this sunset over the mountains and thought I'd go with this one instead for the day. Can't overdo the scottie pics so early in the project, now can I? :)
